Brian Klein is a partner at the Los Angeles-based boutique litigation firm Baker Marquart LLP. His practice focuses on high-stakes criminal and regulatory defense and civil litigation matters. He has extensive experience representing financial technology companies, entrepreneurs, and early adopters. He serves as an advisor to BlockSeer, a blockchain analytics company, and formerly volunteered as the outside general counsel of the Bitcoin Foundation.
He teaches a federal criminal practice seminar at USC’s Law School and was a federal prosecutor in Los Angeles from 2007-2012.
He helped to launch the Digital Currency and Ledger Defense Coalition, a coalition of 50 lawyers that help protect individual constitutional rights and civil liberties in connection with regulatory and law enforcement scrutiny and efforts relating to digital currencies.
